From studying their specifications features and components, these new high-end binoculars from Bushnell do look impressive:
As you would expect these are fully multi-coated, but the optical features that really stand out for me include the use of their prime ED glass elements within their lenses
The Bushnell Engage binoculars also come with protective exterior lens coatings. These are water and oil-phobic and so will help ensure the lenses stay cleaner for longer and thus require less cleaning.
I can confirm that the BaK-4 roof prisms are phase corrected, but as usual, Bushnell does not disclose what type of reflective material they use, but one would hope for Dielectric at this level.
Update: I have had a reader write to me letting me know that he read a quote in the NRA Magazine American Rifleman from Steve Smith of Bushnell saying that the Engage Binoculars are as I suspected "Dielectric" coated.
This is great news as the amount of light transmitted is substantially higher than any of the alternatives. So many thanks to Thomas Murray for taking the time to send me this confirmation.
The Chassis is made from Magnesium which is good as not only is a magnesium body usually more robust than a polycarbonate one but is also far less susceptible to expansion and contraction due to temperature changes. This is important as these changes can affect the alignment of the optics and make minor changes in the quality of the view.
I also noticed that they have a lockable diopter adjuster. So once you have taken the time to calibrate the binoculars to match your particular vision, you can lock this setting in place and be safe in the knowledge that it will not be knocked out of place.
Whilst this is a small feature, it is always a good sign of quality.
As you can see from the list of specifications below, the close focus is very good as is the eye-relief, but what really jumps out is the very wide field of view. At 426ft/142m wide 1000yds/1000m this is really impressive and is sure to please many birders and hunters looking for the widest views possible.

What this means is that this Bushnell Engage 8x42 Binoculars review is al little shorter and not the usual super in-depth hands-on type of review that you may be used to seeing here on BBR.
This is because I have not had any hands-on time with the product and thus I have not been able to comment on aspects like the build quality or that of the view quality where it would require me to actually handle and use them.
Instead, I have used my experience to form some basic and logical opinions based on research as well as the stated specifications and features supplied my the manufacturers.

The main reason for me providing this mini listing is to get these Binoculars added into my database so that we can then compare their stats and features against all the other binoculars on the BBR website that I have fully hands-on tested and reviewed.
