Introducing the Night Pearl Oryx 10x42 LRF Binoculars – Shot Show 2025

At this year’s SHOT Show, I had the opportunity to meet with the team from Night Pearl Sport Optics and get a first look at their newest instrument: The ORYX 10x42 LRF binoculars. These binoculars combine excellent optical performance with an integrated laser rangefinder, offering a versatile solution for outdoor enthusiasts, hunters, and professionals seeking precision and durability.

Scheduled to launch soon, the ORYX 10x42 LRF binoculars showcase Night Pearl’s commitment to expanding their portfolio, yet continuing to create high-performance sports optics that can handle the toughest environments.

About Night Pearl

Night Pearl, based in the Czech Republic, is renowned for its innovative optics designed for hunters, outdoor enthusiasts, and tactical professionals. The company specializes in and is probably best known for its thermal imaging devices, night vision optics, and laser rangefinders.

Their product portfolio includes high-quality thermal monoculars, thermal rifle scopes, and night vision attachments, all engineered to provide excellent performance in challenging conditions.

So the introduction of the ORYX 10x42 LRF binoculars adds another cutting-edge product to their lineup, combining traditional optical clarity with advanced rangefinding technology.

Optical performance

The ORYX 10x42 LRF binoculars deliver 10x magnification with a 42mm objective lens, providing a sharp and detailed image across a variety of settings. With an exit pupil of 4.2mm, they offer a bright viewing experience, even in twilight conditions, achieving light transmission rates of 85% during daylight and 83% in low light.

The binoculars feature a field of view of 6.7°, translating to 117m at 1000m, making them ideal for scanning large areas and tracking subjects with ease. A short focus distance of 3.5m allows users to observe close-range details with precision.

Integrated laser rangefinder

A key part of the ORYX binoculars is the built-in Class 1 laser rangefinder, which offers a measuring range from 12m to 2400m. The rangefinder is equipped with multiple modes: Auto, Hunting, and Golf, allowing them to perform and adapt to various scenarios, whether estimating the distance to a target, scanning the terrain, or calculating inclines.

If the specs are correct, then the accuracy is impressive, with measurements up to ±1m under 1000m and ±1.8m beyond 1000m. The device can also calculate inclinations of up to ±70°, providing critical data for steep-angle observations. Powered by a CR2 battery, the rangefinder supports up to 1500 measurements per charge, ensuring reliable performance in the field.

Durable, comfortable Design

The Night Pearl ORYX 10x42 LRF binoculars are built with a magnesium body, wrapped in durable rubber armor.

From the texture of the rubber armor to the overall shape and balance, I instantly liked how they felt in my hands.

The Night Pearl Oryx binoculars are rated to withstand 1m of water for up to 30 minutes and are operational in temperatures ranging from -15°C to +55°C, making them suitable for a variety of environments.

With a weight of 900g and dimensions of 155 x 138 x 69 mm, the binoculars are reasonably portable and lightweight, but without compromising durability. The adjustable interpupillary distance (56-76mm) and a dioptric correction range of +4/-4 should ensure a comfortable fit for users with varying vision needs.

Additional features and warranty

Night Pearl has included a generous 5-year warranty, extendable to 10 years upon registration, reflecting their confidence in the ORYX’s build quality.
