New Luna Optics LN-QE-B50 Day-Night Vision Binoculars – SHOT Show 2025

First Impressions: Luna Optics LN-QE-B50 Quantum Elite 4K Day-Night Vision Binoculars at SHOT Show 2025

The SHOT Show is always a highlight of the year for outdoor sporting and optics enthusiasts, offering a chance to see the latest advancements firsthand.

For me, this year, one of the standout encounters was at the Luna Optics stand and their brand-new LN-QE-B50 Quantum Elite 4K Day-Night Vision Binoculars. As well as the rest of the team, I had the opportunity to meet with Vladimir Savchik, President & CEO of Luna Optics, who took the time to introduce me to a brand new addition to their lineup. After a lengthy discussion and a hands-on look at the device, I came away with some strong first impressions and a great deal of anticipation for a full review here on BBR in the near future.

A New Benchmark in Digital Night Vision?

Luna Optics has built a solid reputation for delivering high-quality night vision and thermal imaging devices, and the LN-QE-B50 looks to continue that tradition. At first glance, the design immediately stands out with its robust yet ergonomic build, featuring rubberized inserts and knurled focusing rings for a comfortable and secure grip. The device feels solid but not overly heavy, and its folding rubber eyecups make it adaptable for different users. This is clearly a unit designed for extended use in the field.

Cutting-Edge Sensor Technology

The defining feature of the LN-QE-B50 is its Quantum Elite 4K CMOS sensor, which Luna Optics claims offers a 75% improvement in low-light sensitivity over previous G3 models. With a sensor resolution of 2880x2160 pixels and an ultra-low-light sensitivity of 0.0005 lux, the binoculars promise exceptional clarity even in near-total darkness. A key highlight is the proprietary Ultra Night Vision Mode, which enhances nighttime visibility without needing an IR illuminator—a major advantage for stealth and battery conservation.

Advanced Viewing Experience

Internally, the LN-QE-B50 boasts a pair of AMOLED color displays (1024x768 resolution) designed to function even in extreme cold down to -30°C (-22°F). The unit offers multiple pallets and viewing modes, including:

  • Daytime Color
  • Nighttime Color
  • Black & White
  • Night Vision Green Phosphor
  • Night Vision White Phosphor
  • Amber

Additionally, Luna Optics has introduced an automatic daylight color-enhancing filter, a first in the industry. This filter enhances natural colors during daylight use while blocking infrared light, but it automatically disengages at night to maximize IR sensitivity.

Unmatched Nighttime Performance

For those needing maximum visibility in darkness, the LN-QE-B50 integrates dual infrared illuminators (850nm and 940nm), extending visibility up to 1000m (1100 yards). The combination of these illuminators with the Quantum Elite sensor should provide one of the most detailed night vision experiences available.

Long-Range Laser Rangefinder

Another industry-leading feature is the integrated Class-I 905nm laser rangefinder, capable of measuring distances up to 1500m (1635 yards) with precision. This is an invaluable tool for hunters, tactical users, and outdoor professionals who require accurate distance readings in real time.

Magnification and Optics

The LN-QE-B50 offers a magnification range of 6x to 36x, utilizing a 50mm f/0.9 objective lens for optimal light-gathering ability. With a 10° field of view at 6x magnification, it provides a good balance between wide-area scanning and detailed close-up viewing. An electronic image stabilization function is available at 6x optical magnification, which should prove useful for reducing handheld shake.

Connectivity, Storage, and Power

This instrument is also packed with tons of other features, including:

  • Wi-Fi streaming to iOS and Android devices
  • HD video recording up to 4K resolution (60/30 fps)
  • 16.1 MP still images (5360x3008 resolution)
  • Micro-SD storage up to 512GB
  • HDMI output for direct connection to HDTV monitors
  • USB-C power input for external power banks
  • Up to 8.5 hours of operation on 4x 18650 batteries

Cost and Where to Buy

So for a night vision binocular costing under $1000, it makes all the features even more impressive to me.

Next Steps: Full Testing and Review

While my initial hands-on experience with the Luna Optics LN-QE-B50 was incredibly promising, a true assessment requires real-world testing. Fortunately, I have arranged for a sample unit to be sent over for a full review, where I will put all of these features to the test in various lighting conditions and environments.

From what I’ve seen so far, the Luna Optics LN-QE-B50 Quantum Elite 4K  Day-Night Vision
