Compare Binoculars Side-By-Side

Compare Birdwatching BinocularsRecently, rather than reviewing binoculars, I have been working on improving the functionality of the website: Last week I wrote about a new section on the site, where you can quickly check discounted binoculars, making it simpler to find binoculars that are on sale at one or more of the major retailers of binoculars.

This week, I have added a new section on the site where it makes it simpler for you to compare binoculars side-by-side, which I think really works.

Most "Compare Binoculars" pages that I have seen on the web are nothing more than price comparisons, great for when you know exactly which pair of binoculars you want, not so great if you don't.

Lets say you are after a pair of binoculars for birdwatching, having to go and check the eye relief, short focus distance, field of view, weight, dimensions and many other important details of every binocular that you are interested in can take some time. This new feature enables you to look at all these details at once.

I think this can really help you in deciding which binoculars are right for you and I would love to get any feedback or suggestions.

Discount Binoculars

Discount Binocular for Sale

Discount? What Discount?

Whilst researching some new Birdwatching Binoculars from Bushnell, I noticed that a website said that it had "huge discounts on selected binoculars", but once I clicked through to the site, do you think I could find these selected binoculars? Not a chance.

Quick Experiment:
Do a quick search on Google for Discount Binoculars "Discount Binoculars", I have just done it and none of the first 10 results take you to a page that actually have binoculars on it with any kind of discount. How annoying is that!

That got me thinking, if I get annoyed getting tricked into looking at a website, I bet pretty much everyone else does as well. So what can I do about it?

Real Discounts on Real Binoculars
Well, I often come across real discounted binoculars from genuine binocular retailers when I am working on the site, so what I have done is to put together a page that lists all the Discount Binoculars for Sale that I come across as well as where you can actually go to get the discount. Real Discounts on Real Binoculars.

I hope that this page can help save you time, by finding the best deals on the best binoculars without taking you to a bunch on non existent sales and discounts. Obviously websites will add, remove and change their deals all the time and whilst I will do my best to keep the page up-to-date, it is impossible to check them all every day. I am hoping that you guys can help me here. If you spot a discount that is not on the page, or I have the information wrong, please just contact me and i will make the necessary changes. That way everyone cane benefit.

Anyway that is my rant over for the day, hope you enjoy the new page.

The first video takes you through a basic glossary of Binoculars, describing the main parts of a pair of binoculars and what binocular terms like objective lens, field of view and exit pupil actually mean and how they are important to you when deciding on which binocular to purchase for your specific needs. Video Reviews of Binoculars

Video icon
I have recently added a video review section to the website that I feel will help with one of the biggest obstacles to buying binoculars on the web.

I find that not only with binoculars, but many products when you can not be sure of the it's size, it is sometimes difficult to get a sense of proportionality. Even though on every binocular review, I list the binoculars dimensions and weight, I feel that it can still be difficult to visualise just how compact those great Steiner 8.5x26 Wildlife Pro's are.

Another ingenious use of video for binoculars is this video created by Yachting Monthly to demonstrate just how well the image stabilization works on the Fujinon Techno-Stabi 14x40 Image Stabilized Binoculars:

You can see all the video reviews on this page: Binocular Video Reviews or the video link will be on the specific binoculars main review page. So for example look for the video link on the Steiner 10.5x28 Wildlife Pro Binoculars page to view it.

At the moment I have a video of most of the Steiner binoculars that I have reviewed, but in the future I plan to not only get videos of more binoculars, but also hopefully start producing some of my own.

I hope they are of use to you, in helping you find the best binocular for your needs.
