This pair of binoculars from Minox not only looks great, but has all the features and quality optics of binoculars many times more expensive than these.

The BV line of Binoculars from Minox are basically their low cost line of binoculars, but in my opinion, they still offer you a really excellent quality pair of binoculars with many of the features of their more expensive lines but all at a great price, including:

  • Multi-coated lens elements that reduce glare for brighter images with more neutral colours.
  • Phase correction that improves contrast and detail rendition even in poor light conditions.

These binoculars feature multi-coated lenses which reduce glare to a minimum and provide exceptionally high light transmission of light. The roof prisms also have a phase correction coating which is said to help you view any image with high detail rendition and rich in contrast even in poor light conditions.

These as well as the other binoculars in the BV range from Minox are pretty tough and should take pretty much everything you throw at them (within reason!)

  • Waterproofing means submersible to a depth of down to 3 meters in water. This means that they are sealed against the effects of dust, too.
  • Fog-proofing with nitrogen filling protects against corrosion and prevents fogging up of the optical surfaces as the temperature fluctuates from one extreme to another.
  • Rubber armour that provides an excellent grip in cold, wet weather and protects the binoculars from accidental knocks and bumps.

For me the most important features for any binocular that you wish to take on safari with you are that they must not be too expensive, in case you loose them whilst travelling, yet they must still be a quality set of binoculars with a good magnification (10x or more is ideal) and but be small enough to easily pack away. These Minox BV 10x42 BR binoculars have all these attributes and more and so I would highly recommend them for anyone wanting to view wildlife or take them travelling with them. (Although these are pretty compact for the power that you get, if you do plan on walking safaris or bird spotting walks where you would also like to take a camera with you, you may consider a more compact set of binoculars, that can be put in your pocket, like the Steiner 10.5x28 Wildlife Pro Binoculars)

The Minox BV 8x42 BR Binocular comes with:

  • Ever-ready case
  • Neoprene neck strap
  • Minox 30-Year Limited Warranty

Last but not least is the design of the Minox BV 10x42 BR binoculars, which along with many of the other binoculars and scopes from Minox was put together by the car designers at Volkswagen. Producing an exceptionally slim design binocular that rest securely in your hand with no risk of fatigue even with extended use.
