All of the Nikon Fieldscopes and Spotting Scopes apart from the Spotter XL II have interchangeable eyepieces, which means that you can make the scope work best for your particular needs or indeed have a number of different eyepieces for different uses.
Each of Nikon's main ranges of scopes have their own eyepieces:
These are designed to be used with the Nikon EDG Fieldscopes, their top of the range fieldscopes and so as you would expect so are their eyepieces.
EDG Eyepieces FEP Series
There are seven eyepieces for optimum optical performance, all fully multilayer coated giving you the greatest flexibility possible. There are 5 wide angle eyepieces ranging from 20x to a massive 75x magnification, one with a 20-60x zoom eyepiece that offers superb optical performance with minimized distortion and long eye relief (18.4-16.5mm).
The eyepieces mount onto the body with a bayonet locking design that is really easy to attach and release as well as secure. As well as being both fogproof wand waterproof*, Nikon have a field flattener lens system that corrects overall aberration for a sharper, clearer edge-to-edge image.
*An important point to note is that while the eyepieces and the scopes themselves are filled with nitrogen gas and O-ring sealed making them waterproof and fog proof, the body-and eyepiece joint is only water-resistant.
Whilst these eyepieces are designed to fit the 85/85-A and the smaller 65/65-A, their magnifications, field of view exit pupil and relative brightness will depend on which scope you are using (see the specifications chart below)

Eyecups
Turn-and-slide eyecups are used that have three click stops: 1) for observing with the naked eye, 2) for observing with eyeglasses, 3) for digiscoping (except FEP-30W, FEP-25 LER and FEP-20-60)

The MC Fieldscope Eyepieces are designed to be used with Nikon's Fieldscope range, this includes the Nikon ED82/ED82 A Fieldscopes, Fieldscope III series, Fieldscope II series, ED50 series and ED78 series. Note: These eyepieces are not to be used for Fieldscope I series.
There are eight eyepieces giving you the greatest flexibility possible. The MC in their name stands for Multilayer Coating meaning that all lenses on these eyepieces are multilayer coated for maximum brightness of view field and all optics employ Eco-glass containing no arsenic or lead.
Within the MC Nikon Eyepiece series, there are 3 wide angle versions and 2 zoom eyepieces. All eyepieces can be used with any of the scopes listed above, however it is not recommended to use Nikon's ED50 Fieldscopes with the 20x/25x MC eyepiece or 24x/30x wide MC eyepieces.
