Best Low-Light Binoculars for an Eyeglass Wearer?
The Steiner Nighthunter 8x56 is one of the best-performing low-light binoculars I’ve used — especially for the price. Its Porro prism design delivers exceptional brightness without needing complex coatings, and Steiner claims a 96% light transmission, which feels accurate in the field.
The individual focus system works well for medium to long-range use, but it’s not ideal if you need to frequently focus on close objects. As an eyeglass wearer, I find the eye relief surprisingly generous, even though Steiner doesn’t list a spec. Folding down the rubber eyecups gives me the full image, and with some minor tweaking, these binoculars remain comfortable and effective even with glasses on.
